 Welcome

'' to a little bit of unspoiled Maine ''

What kind of Maine vacation do you crave?
Port Clyde has it all ...

Active Maine?
You can bring your bike, rent a kayak, hike on Monhegan Island, sign on for a ride on a lobstering boat. For the very adventurous, shark cage dives leave from the dock across the road during the month of August.

Art Maine?
Visit the local art galleries and nearby lighthouses. We'll provide directions to some of the best places to see including a museum featuring antique airplanes and a gallery with paintings by Andrew Wyeth. Bring your camera or your sketch pad. Artists of all kinds find inspiration here.

Quiet Maine?
Take a sightseeing cruise, stroll around our tiny village, watch the boats come and go, search the beach for driftwood, feast on some of the best lobster in Maine.

The Seaside Inn is located in Port Clyde, a tiny fishing village in the mid-coast, often described as 'unspoiled Maine'. Fishing and lobstering have been a way of life here for generations.

The inn is set in a restored sea captain's home and offers eight guest rooms, most with private bath, all with great amenities like guest bathrobes and hair dryers.  Rates include a generous breakfast overlooking the harbor; TV in the fireplaced library; coffee any time; guest refrigerators on each floor and free wireless internet access.

Summer rates are $109 to $155
Quiet Season rates are $100 to $125

The pace is slower here, the way life used to be.

While you're here, be sure to visit Marshall Point Lighthouse pictured above.

On a winding road about one mile from the Inn, Marshall Point Light is one of the most photographed and painted lighthouses in Maine. The lighthouse and grounds can be visited year-round and the former lightkeeper's house is now a museum open to the public in season.  Drift Inn Beach, a small sandy beach with rocky tidal pools and a great source for driftwood, is a quick drive or a 20 minute walk away.

A short drive brings you to the restaurants, shops, movie theatres and museums of Rockland and Thomaston. For longer day trips, Port Clyde is also a great home base for setting out to L.L. Bean and the outlet stores of Freeport, the activities in Camden or the sights of Bar Harbor.

Because sometimes the only way you can get away is if you can keep in touch, the Seaside Inn Bed and Breakfast offers Free WIFI Internet Access  to guests.

Please keep in mind that cell phone service is very limited in Port Clyde. Though you might catch a signal out on the boat dock, it's probably best to simply put your phone away during your stay. Tell your friends and family you'll be away from your phone for a while.
